about me

Hello. I’m Arthur S. Oliveira. Entrepreneur, communicator and communicologist, photographer, designer. I’ve been creating and working in Arts, Communication, Photography and Design since 2014.
I was born in a city in the Microregion of Chapada dos Veadeiros (northern Goiás state, Brazil), I spent some of my early childhood years living in Palmas (Tocantins), and I have lived in Brasília since 2001. I am a fan of cinema, photography, music, video games, architecture, gastronomy, Apple, philosophy, fashion, and everything involving Art, Science and Technology in general. I'm extremely curious and always interested in gaining new knowledge, meeting new people, cultures and places. A dreamer and a perfectionist, I'm not satisfied with "little things"; and I don't think this is a flaw, as it brings a lot of satisfaction to me and to all the people around me — regarding everything: just as I demand high quality, I insist on delivering high quality.
I started my professional journey in 2013, when I started working as a designer in my neighborhood in Brasília, Brazil. At that time I was in a “gap year” (period between High School and Higher Education).
In 2014, still in a gap year and still working as a designer, I was introduced to Photography — something I already liked, but I started to take it seriously, with dedication. At first it was just a hobby, but with time, study and new experiences, it also became a professional craft.
In 2015, I enrolled in the Philosophy degree program at the University of Brasília (UnB). At that time, I had no idea which course I wanted to pursue in Higher Education; however, after a 2-year gap year period and having gained many new experiences, I needed to take the next step — even if I didn't know exactly what I wanted. I chose Philosophy because it is a course that could provide me with a good foundation and complement any other field.
The Philosophy degree program was an incredible experience in my life because, in addition to giving me great foundations and bringing me maturity, experience and knowledge about different areas and fields, it also helped me to decide what my next step would be — in other words, indecision was not something present anymore. I believe that I could not have chosen a better program to “find my direction”, as I obtained great foundations that I applied, apply and will still apply in my personal and professional life. Within the degree program, my main subjects were Aesthetics, Philosophy of Art, and Politics.
In 2016 I was introduced to the world of Audiovisual, where I produced a short film in partnership with two friends, and I was the Director of Photography of it. The short film is called 'Cinza' (‘Gray’, in english) and it received 3 awards at the 2nd Short Film Festival of the Federal Institute of Brasília (IFB) – including the award for 'Best Photography’ (for me) –, and became the most awarded project at the festival .
In 2019, with all the knowledge I had acquired up to that point, I enrolled in the Social Communication program at the University of Brasília (UnB), with a specialization in Organizational Communication. The Faculty of Communication at the University of Brasília has existed since the beginning of the 60s, however, with the specificities of contemporary times, the Organizational Communication program was created in 2010, being – at that time – the first university program of its kind in South America. The program was created to meet the new demands of companies and institutions (public, private and third sector), domestic and international, in a world where technology has brought new methods but also new challenges. The program was evaluated with the maximum score (5) by the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
In January 2020 I formally opened my Communication, Photography and Design company.
In 2021, I produced my second short film, where I was responsible for Photography and Art Direction.
In 2022, I had the honor of doing an internship at the Brazilian Superior Electoral Court (“TSE”), where I was responsible for monitoring the court's social media. Being at the TSE in such an important election year and doing my part for Democracy was something that I consider ‘unique’ in my life.
In 2023, right after finishing the Organizational Communication degree program, I started my journey into scriptwriting, producing and editing my own videos (I took a step beyond Photography and Art Direction), and I have loved all the new knowledge and experiences I have acquired so far. I had already studied audiovisual and video production at university, but now with more practical experiences, I am looking for new horizons. Regarding my academic future, I already know what my next step will be.
Also in 2023, I provided advisory and consultancy services to a Brazilian federal congressman for the first time, and all the desired results were achieved in an absolute and satisfactory manner.
This is a very basic summary about me, and there are many other things “between the lines” — as well as things that, for personal reasons, are not present on the internet (since I prefer to share them only with professional partners).
I am always seeking new professional experiences that have something to add and that can make me not only a better professional but also a better person. I am willing to work primarily with people and/or institutions aiming to create social impact and bring positive changes to Brazil and the world, valuing good education, loyalty, originality, and seeking a creative, strategic/planning, and problem-solving mindset.
I am willing, available, and open to business and opportunities connected to my areas of interest and the competencies of my academic and professional background. If you believe I can be of assistance and help you with something, don’t hesitate to contact me. I speak Portuguese and English.
